Sway

Heard this song(artist: Michael Bublé) again on the way to BTS today.

Totally mesmerized by the lyrics and his voice
when it was first aired like about 2 years ago.

Then, Sway(2 different versions) can be heard in both Dance With Me and Shall We Dance.

A slow and romantic cha cha cha feel I got from this song:

When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more

Like a flower bending in the breeze
Bend with me, sway with ease
When we dance you have a way with me
Stay with me, sway with me

Other dancers may be on the floor
Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have the magic technique
When we sway I go weak

I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now

Other dancers may be on the floor
Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have the magic technique
When we sway I go weak

I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me nowf
You know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now

Would you like to Sway(along) with me ?

Merecumbé, Moliendo Cafe

These 2 songs were on air last night at HE's Anniversary Party.

Still remember Johann(the artist) using these songs for our salsa classes(yeah.. he gave us free salsa lessons back in 2004
)

Merecumbé, a moderate pace salsa song, sung by Johnny Colon. Quite upbeat and cool for some shines too.

Moliendo Cafe played by DJ Lee last night is the moderate pace version. I like his version
.

The original version is veeeeeery slow. Jo used it for intro to the newbies during his last class. Then, we change the track to another faster(call it moderate lar) pace for practise.

One of the ladies chose Moliendo Cafe again and Jo and me end up looking at each other(what lar, so slow, how to dance?), but we bear with it cos they all new mar

(Aha...)Yamulemau

First fall in love wih YAMULEMAU (and still am in love with it) in SH like more than 1/2 year ago.

I had a feeling its not in espa
ñol(me watched too much of español movies).

To my surprise, I found this similar song in one of the EGTS CDs(which I bought) while browsing through Borders.

Searched the internet and got this info on the song and the artist:

"Yamulemau" was originally recorded as "Diamoule" by Laba Sosseh, a singer from the West African country Gambia. An interesting example of cultural interaction between Africa and the Americas, Sosseh was first inspired by popular Cuban music and salsa. Arroyo sings "Yamulemau" in the original African language, imitating the phonetics much the same way African artists like Sosseh have done with Spanish.

Clickety click=> YAMULEMAU
(or JAMBU LEMAU as DJ Lee says it) for your listening pleasure .

Songs by Emil Chau(周華健)

You've got mail

Title:Your Favourite

Reminded me of his 1st concert in Malaysia in 1996. That is also the 1st concert that I went to and bought a seat which is just 3 rows from the stage

I actually fall in love with his vocal and his song, Hua Xin(Flowery Heart/
花 心) which I heard in 1995. And I love his character too. Great sense of humour has he.

A few of his songs which I also love:

Ai Xiang Shui (Love Follows Us
/愛相隨)
Peng You(Friends/朋友)
Rang Wo Huan Xi Rang Wo You (You Make Me Happy and Sad/讓我歡喜讓我憂)

And the best part is(I found out after the concert), I share the same birth date with him too
.

Should I or should I not watch his concert again ? That is the question.

Tujhe Dekha To

The hindi chacha song triggered an old memory stored somewhere in my head a few days later.

I used to hear this song(sung by Malay colleague) a few years back when we're in KLP.

The first time he sings Tujhe Dekha To, my ex boss asked:
Yin May, are you singing an Hindi song?

Me: No lar boss, I dunno how to sing the whole song. Jai is singing it.

Ex boss : Oh, is it? I thought you were the one singing.

From then onward, I'm totally hook on to the song.

I finally had a copy of it(with the translated lyrics too) that goes like this:

tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam
When I saw you, I understood this, sweetheart:

pyaar hota hai diivaana sanam
love is madness, sweetheart.

ab yahaa.n se kahaa.n jaae.n ham
Now where do we go from here?

terii baaho.n me.n mar jaae.n ham
May I die in this embrace!

aa.nkhe.n merii sapane tere
They’re my eyes, but the dreams in them are yours.

dil mera yaade.n terii
It’s my heart, but it houses your memories.

meraa hai kya, sab kuchh teraa
What’s left to me? Everything is yours.

jaan terii saa.nse.n terii
My life is yours, my very breath is yours.

merii aa.nkho.n me.n aa.nsuu tere aa ga'e
My eyes filled with your tears;

muskuraane lage saare gam
all my cares began to smile.

yeh dil kahii.n lagtaa nahii.n
This heart won't take anywhere else.

kya kahuu.n mai.n kya karuu.n
What shall I say, what shall I do?

haa.n tuu saamane baiTHii rahe
Yes, stay seated before me,

mai.n tujhe dekhaa karuu.n
so I might look at you always!

tuu ne aavaaz dii dekh mai.n aa ga’ii
You called, and look, I came.

pyaar se hai baDii kya kasam
What oath is greater than love? (i.e., What obligation takes precedence over love?)

A lovely soundtrack from the movie, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge(DDLJ for short). Guess I have to wait for the TV station to air it again.

Mana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin

This is the song and the sequence of event that inspired me to create this blog.

First heard the song in LH where DJ Lee played it. A hindi cha cha song. Cool not ?

Guru Sam asked Ash what is the meaning of the song? It sounded something like: If you don't call, I'll still come.

And Guru Sam said to DJ Lee: Assalamualaikum

Me being cheeky replied : Mualaikumsalam

The song aired in LH is a cover version of the original soundtrack sung by Kishore Kumar in the movie, Paying Guest.

Paying Guest/Tumsa Nahin Dekha/Munimji
I have yet to watch this movie. Hopefully Astro or the non-pay for TV station would air this film soon.

Kalau Cik Adik mukanya kelat(if dear miss' face is sour)
Kelubang jendela kami nak lompat(to the window, we'll jump)

and many more. Sorry guys, no samples for you to listen here. Guess you have to buy the CD yourself
